I generated several new worlds and no luck. even tried a seed of "dungeon" no luck.
However I have found a number of ruins. I am going to open a used Piano store soon because I have already got over 100 slightly used and dented pianos in stock

Ok Everyone chill, I was just poking some fun At Red. If you will look at my replies I have never said anything negative about this game, In fact I went out of my way to get the word out on steam. I was looking at some of the ages of some of the people making replies and most of you are still pretty much children. I was doing this Way Before you were born. So everyone relax , and enjoy and recognize a Joke when you see it. I was Never mad a Red.
Announced, Back in July, I made the comment on this thread that it would be 3-6 months after Red Said "Shortly " , It seems I was correct in my assumption. Water , the API and some very minor cosmetic updates were completed in 2016 before the dungeons.
This may be because Red spent most of his time on that API. He needs to get help. A lot more then he has now.
This is not to take anything away from what Rising world will become, because the development team is so small, nothing will happen quickly.
We will see what 2017 brings. I only wish Red and whomever is working on this the best.
5 more minutes
Things this plugin wont do.
It wont clear trees , glass, Chairs, workbenches or any non block items from the world.
I put a blueprint in the wrong place and although it did remove the blocks, I was relegated to removing the windows, Doors and furniture with my trusty pickaxe.
I guess that is why it is called a block editor
Works great to place walls and floors though
Nice job
Display MoreFor the curious:
Dynamite is under utilities in the crafting bench.
Flares is under lights in crafting bench.
Saloon door also locked me out again in 'open lan' mode while waiting on buddies to join. Now let's see where I find sulfur, if I do find sulfur.
------------
I'm loving the cave reverb when you walk & mine. It echoes nicely. Also nice that flares have a 5 minute timer to do thi
Ok thanks
Flare Issue:
If you create more then one and drop it , you drop the whole stack.
Flares Should burn out after time and not burn constantly. Say 5-10 minutes.
I can see this in the hands of griefers on servers, blowing up roads and buildings.
I actually purchased this during the Steam Summer sale and just got around to installing it.
Alchemists Awakening is also written in java. It looks a lot like rising world in its land generation especially the mountains. There are of course big differences , the Land generator seems to create endless islands on a huge sea, Rising world seems to hide its voxel stepping with a huge world of grass to cover up the voxel stepping. Alchemists Awakening worlds do generate some buildings and monuments here and there but I do not think they are procedurally generated. One unique thing you can do in this world is create monsters out of trees and rocks and somewhat give them orders.
The world also has animals and other beings you can fight or you can play in a creative mode where everything is docile. Of course you can also build anything you want just like in rising world. The water in the game also looks great and you can see the fish jumping as you fly or swim over or under the water.
I purchased no mans sky last week.I was excited like nuts.1 week later? All upgrades have been reached, inventory slots are maxed out and now I do the same thing over and over.Just visiting planets in which there are about 25-30 types and have been blended with different colors.Same thing with animals and body parts. It got boring very fast.I like space exploration ,thats why I got it but..., nothing will easily replace RW.You can play this game until you get old, with the same excitement unless you get tired of your own creativity and imagination.I know it wont happen to me!! I love RW!
They plan to add "building" to No mans sky and I do not know why unless they add full multiplayer to it as it does not make sense. I still have not purchased the game due to the PC bugs.
As far as rising world goes. ALL procedural generation does the same thing INCLUDING rising worlds. It always produces rows of mountains, and a mostly grass covered surface. Rising worlds biomes , although pretty lack rocks, volcanoes, geysers and waterfalls and more detail. No mans sky and astral terra produce much more varied terrain and detail then rising world.
Got my copy today and it is going to be awesome
Yet another Game enters the arena. Planet Nomads with procedural random worlds. But there is a huge difference here , you can build Vehicles of all kinds , Spaceships and more. Releases in early access on steam next week. You will have to get your steam key on their web page until early next year. And yess it will set you back about 40 bucks.
Display MoreOf course, it goes without saying. I probably should of added that i was talking about download size haha. OMG imagine the actual gane only being 2.5GB whuuuuuut ??????
But no, just the download size was a great indication of how small this "diverse near limitless universe" can be compacted into.
Looking at the game graphics wise and looking at the most prevailant thing a player would be doing in game (exploring). coming in at 2.5GB
you'd start to wish they are using some damn good compression techniques or find out you're going to meet a whole lot of recolors and resizes over and over again.
it sucks to find out that right after steam refund time limit the repeditiveness starts to show.
After watching my friend grind his way to believing theres more, yep there was more... more of the same...
Or i have a bias for RW hahaha dang it @yahgiggle I'm with you on that !!!
look at the download size of rising world I probably will not buy No man's sky for a few more weeks until they work the bugs out.
Display MoreI agree.

Theres this one review that spoke volumes to me.
Then watching a friend play OMG confirmed !
It even rang a bell with whats lacking in Elite dangerous and still is btw.
I kind of see how procedural generation would fail... a game the size of 2.5 GB (no mans sky) that is supposed to be about exploring new worlds has a limited amount of assets that gets recolored then rescaled and used over and over again. That to me is a boring way to keep generating something "new". Sure expansion packs could introduce more variation after release but the initial $60 release... c'mon it should of filled up an entire Blu-ray disc at least. (lets not get technical about what compression techniques they've used)
High five on their marketting strategy tho. Now we know where at least $30 from the total price goes to.
You are basing the size of the game on the compressed data steam downloads to your pc. No Mans sky is about 10 GB in size. The size you are seeing is the compresset installer . I still do not own the game yet. Too many pc issues.
I have learned that when Red says "Soon" the update is 3-6 months away. I have not messed with this game in almost 3 months myself because I am waiting for more to get done. I am pretty much just waiing for steam to tell me the game has been updated . You have one or maybe 2 people working on this. I Personally would rather have seen random villages / towns before dungeons. Red at one time wanted to keep this more on the "Realistic" side. However , everyone is entitled to change their mind. This game showed so much promise early on,
This game will eventually get done , I do not know when but it will take a very long time before most of the stuff is added. I am guessing 1-2 years unless he gets some help. It is going to be a long wait.
I still think this will turn out ok. It is just going to be a very long time. Looking foreword to what Rising world will become.
I am waiting to buy it , I have a graphics card that is less then a year old. Tre requirements are really high . I think they are going to fix it so lower end systems can run it . Most of what I have seen is the ps4 graphics and I do not have a ps4.
No man's Sky is the absolute king of procedural world generation. I have watched a lot of the streaming videos , and as soon as they squash a few of the Pc bugs, I'm going to buy it. They are going to add building in September. Only 18 quintillion unique planets to visit. We will never see them all.
Star citizen will be the next. Gaming will never be the same.
I love the idea of letting the computer generate the worlds. Even the programmers of No man's sky are amazed in what they see. Its a game changer.
I tried the smoke in a test world , seems to have a yellow/green hue around it and once placed , I cant find a way to remove it . Use with caution
The bp and wp files contain metadata of the world. It was not intended that those files get created after visiting a multiplayer server, this will be fixed with the next update
However, removing these files from a singleplayer world may break your world if it has been created prior the water update.
The files also appear in new single player worlds after the update . I could not read them so I left them alone. I have done enough damage as it is LOL .
