Wiki Project for Rising World Unity

Dear all,

haven´t you always missed something in this game? Something that will help you find your way upon starting your adventure, something that will help you when you are lost as how to get this **** block in the shape and position you want?

Then join our new project - Rising World Wiki!

We just started off on the german forums and have only today created a Discord channel. If you are seriously interested to contribute (with Wiki-knowledge as well as articles for the Wiki) please contact:

The intention is to get hold of the current start-off for the Unity version and grow with it. The goal is to have a complete Wiki for the Rising World Unity version at least in german and english language in order to support JiW with the game as well as us players.

The conditions are simple:

1. are you willing to invest some serious efforts to contribute with a well written article?

2. do you have the knowledge about a certain topic on rising world?

3. do you have the knowledge/experience with cross reading a text and correcting it or do you have experience with Wiki projects?

If the answer of at least Nr. 1 + any of the others are yes you can contribute

Just curious but why not a fandom hosted domain site as most games nowadays have?

Haven't followed the German forum discussion tbh if that is what you are actually doing

There are for sure several ways to go. We have chosen a path and will follow it. In the end its important to take a decision and follow that way

Cool, yes ofc that is the most important thing. Btw what is that direction as I quickly scanned through the German thread but can't seem to see any specific mentions other than the discord server.

True though adblock haha But joke aside the advantage of fandom is that it is fully publicly editable and anyone can, when they have time, join and leave the wiki project as they please.

Bogus and yaromid chose a wiki software and we are just getting familiar with it, already prepared some texts and will publish them once ready

The website wiki.rising-world.co.uk is a public wiki which anyone can edit and uses the same software as Wikipedia.

That is good

The only concern someone might have over a privately owned wiki domain also tieing with Yaromid 's post too would be that you can't ensure it will be available forever while with a fandom or gamepedia domain you are certain that so long as the company exists it will be there, i.e. no concerns over if the owner will pay for the domain or the server hosting it etc.

They also have tools for the devs to make the wiki official by appointing their moderators etc. It is more dev controlled that way and not so unofficial.

Having said that private wikis/websites do exist and prosper in many gaming communities, it all comes down to the effort and dedication of the people behind it and the execution of their ideas.

I feel kind of responsable. But no, the topic of a wiki has been around for years. But you can discuss a lot, in the end it depends on who really wants to do something for it. As I already mentioned in the German forum, everybody can create and change posts in Wikipedia. But we still need someone who is willing to take the first milestones in hand, otherwise it will be a lively discussion like in previous years.

And thats why we start with a Discord channel for communication and open the Wiki for the public once it has some more flesh on the bones.

Not sure about the OPs Wiki, but the https://wiki.rising-world.co.uk/ Wiki is still up.
