The next update will be available on Wednesday, December 18, in the early evening (GMT+1).

This update will not yet replace the Java version, instead it is the actual content update. We'll provide more information about the transition together with the update.
  • I'm sure everybody heard of this by now, but damn, does it have insane amounts of potential. It offers so much fun, so much features, and great fun in early access that it's worth looking into. I hope Lego & TT Games both put all their necessary spare funds into this to take proper responsibility of their new new-born child. They need to take full responsibility, especially with all the challenges they implied to be setting for themselves.

You're basically placed with in the Lego world to do as you desire by either building or collecting, or both. You create a world of your choosing, jump in, and roam around freely with no leash or collar. You're let loose to bump into friendly NPCs to gain their style of customization; attacking the hostiles to unlock their customization options. You're free to do whatever you want while collecting the in-game's currency of 'studs' to unlock what you've discovered fully. You can drive cars, pilot planes and helicopters, while even being allowed to set sail. It's fun seeing your little mini-figure being able to ride vehicles, climb terrain, and even mess around with the environment. It has a long way to go, just a great base point to build off of.

My hopes is to see Star Wars & Indiana Jones set out in the wild on their very own. Multiplayer is confirmed by years' end so no fear or worries about it. Three sets I hope to find within the game in time....
    1) http://brickset.com/sets/7683-1/Fight-on-the-Flying-Wing
    2) http://brickset.com/sets/4559-1/Cargo-Railway
    3) http://brickset.com/sets/60064-1/Arctic-Supply-Plane

What I hope shall be added after to expand into space:
    1) http://brickset.com/sets/7264-1/Imperial-Inspection
    2) http://brickset.com/sets/6456-1/Mission-Control
    3) http://brickset.com/sets/6339-1/Shuttle-Launch-Pad

So much great potential that I wonder if this is the route Rising World is going with vehicles. Hoping for so much fun while even waiting to see if they're intelligent by adding a free-roam into space using the space sets & Star Wars sets in a Space Engineers manner. They have the resources & funding.

(I ask that if you are going to post to keep any Minecraft comparisons to a minimum. Let's be civil and polite about this.)

  • it just amazes me that we are into 3'D graphics today and texture's and shapes and designs that you can just melt into and yet companies are making a killing still off of squares, rectangles, triangles, etc. this is why I never got mine craft. Don't get me wrong I love the concept, and some real great builds but still blocky . On lego's. The LEGO Group was founded in 1932
by Ole Kirk Kristiansen. The company has passed from father to son and
is now owned by Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, a grandchild of the founder.Jan 9, 2012

They were fun when I was a small child, but today yes I see games they have but still I find them well 2 dimensional
A shape that only has two dimensions (such as width and height) and no thickness. Squares, Circles, Triangles, etc are two dimensional objects.
    and no real pi-sass

On the thought of models they would be great to build a model with that could hang or sit in the house. Other than that I couldn't see a need for.

  • I grew up on Lego's so I have strong bias towards this game. I want to see it succeed because it's what I also wanted from Lego, which Minecraft did deliver (not fully), with me now seeing this game coming at a 'better late than ever' stage. It was supposed to come out long before, yet glad it's doing it now after using Minecraft as a guinea pig. If it's going to be taken to its full potential is yet to be seen.

Also, people been shitting on Minecraft a hell of a lot that I find their thoughts in negativity baseless. I could say why but that would make my post lengthy. Played MC from late Beta to 2nd 1.8 with it being fun until render issues, lazy Mojang, and boat de-syncs ruined it all. Everything since & before those updates were genuinely fun. People just idiotically picky & stupid.

I'm glad this Lego Worlds game is now out. Long time coming. It keeps to the Nintendo simplicity of what makes things fun by giving you vehicles, unlocks, and such. It keeps it simplistic and fun, not spreadsheet heavy to stress you out on top of stress. We need simple games, and this is it. Granted, it should tone down how it rewards you with vehicles and such. It has great potential.

(Also can't wait to play Rising World. I want it to mature loads (1 update a month) by autumn 2015 so I can finally play it fully  )

  • I find the Lego games really funny. They have a genuine humour to them that really gets me smiling every time. haa! I think that this game should be given a chance personally. From what i've seen, it looks like a really good laugh! hee hee! Also, what i love about Lego games, is that it makes real light of horror themes. where other games would put in loads of jump scares and silly noises, Lego puts in a lighthearted comical scene for adults as well as children to enjoy.

  • Lego Worlds is indeed for the nice light-hearted laughs. You can already see that in this LW game, especially when NPCs come up with their horses to steal people's cars from their car dealership, or when some youtuber left a car for stray NPC people to walk up and steal the vehicle. This game already having awesome humour in it heh.

Too bad the community itself on steam is overly hostile over the thoughts of "survival", like those venturing here also, out of simple fear and misplaced hatred. Hating on Minecraft for silly reasons (playing creative mode then saying the game is boring because they never played survival). Going to keep an eye on this game whenever I can to see how it progresses. Both LW & RW. Both hae great potential :)

I can't wait to build my Arcticu City in both with it being more detailed in RW so I'll go all out in RW instead.

  • @Arcticukitsu- I would really love to see some drawings of things you intend to put into your Arcticu City. From what you've mentioned it sound absolutely awesome. haa!

That could be done.....With no net I could go into paint to loosely design stuff once again going to the library occasionally to post up my 'plans' just for you? :P Maybe I could find myself sketching in pencil all these sorts of designs, or similar, while there......I just can't wait.....Lego World is going to take ages but at least there might be some functional buildings I can add into it. Without any 'adventure' or 'survival' mode I can't really go all out as much as I would like to in Lego World so I'm still eyeing Rising World. All that whining on the forums isn't helping.

For Rising World, what updates am I to expect? Biomes (June) -> Baking & cooking (July) -> More entities (August)........Something like that. I need to plan for those also heh.

  • @ArcticuKitsu- Thanks Friend! I'm really interested in your ideas, and hearing so much about how enthusiastic you are about your Arcticu City, it would be really interesting to see exactly what's in your mind at the moment. haa! I've got a fair idea, but it's probably not even close...hee hee!

  • Now curious if & how I would build the Lego Worlds version. I guess in a more "deformed" and "fun" manner. Less functional than both Minecraft & Rising World versions with more experimentation. More loose & fun hmm.

Wanted to share some nice found images on the screen folder that shows great potential for this game. Even a nice quote from the developer who supports the idea of some 'survival' & possibly 'adventure' mode. Neat stuff

Having high hopes for both these European developers (RW trio included). Please show Europeans can make games far more entertaining than the North American ones that enjoy burning you at every turn
