The next update will be available on Wednesday, December 18, in the early evening (GMT+1).
This update will not yet replace the Java version, instead it is the actual content update. We'll provide more information about the transition together with the update.

Are you using the newest graphic driver?
-
Could be Java, go to http://www.ninite.com and download java from there. Also you will get that if you try (or the game) at to high of a resolution. Lower your resolution. You may need to go into your Steam library right click on game, local files and verify integrity of game files. This game is pretty resource intensive so make sure you have your computer running at top notch.

Can you please post the full errorlog, or at least the next line? Have you been able to start the game previously? If so, deleting the config.properties file in your game directory should help. Once you're in game, don't enable fullscreen, but you can alternatively adapt the resolution to your desktop resolution and check the "Undecorated" box (this provides an alternative fullscreen mode).
Otherwise (e.g. when the next errorline say something about "Pixel format not accelerated") it's related to your graphics card. If you have two graphics card, make sure the dedicated one is used (assign your Nvidia/AMD card to the game as well as to the java.exe [Steamversion: steam/steamapps/common/risingworld/java/bin], this can be done in the Nvidia control panel/Catalyst control center). If not, please download and install the latest version of your graphics driver. -
i dont think java is the problem as it would not even give you that error maybe drivers or you have to low of a spec computer only way we can help find out is we need more info like your computer specs and that error log red has asked for .

To elaborate more on Red51's exlanation, If the exact wording is this:
Could not create window with selected width and height. The error was: <Pixel format not accelerated>
This means it is using generic microsoft windows drivers. These are fine to use for most DirectX games, but do not support most OpenGL games such as Risong World. You cannot use standard Windows Update to update the drivers, because Microsoft will only update to its own directX drivers. You will want to get the latest official display drivers from Intel-NVidia-Radeon (depending who made your graohics card):
NVIDIA: http://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx
RADEON/ATI drivers: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
INTEL onboard drivers: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/As Red51 explained, if this is a laptop with switchable graphics (it has both intel + nvidia/Radeon), there is a special setting in the graphics card control panel to tell it to always use the gaming graphics for JAVA games. If you DON'T use STEAM and update JAVA this might change the path and you might need to update in the graphics card control panel as well. However if you use STEAM then the path should stay consistent.
Example of setting for ATI/Radeon
except point it to the path for java.exe -- if you use steam: steam/steamapps/common/risingworld/java/bin
Non-steam is probably either C:\Windows\System32 or C:\Program Files\Java\jre8\bin or similar, but if you cannot find it there, try going to Windows>Start>Search "java.exe" then right click the file and check Properties/LocationIf you are still confused, post again I do not know if Rising World uses HS_ERR_PID files like some other JAVA games, but this crash log will probably give us more details to troubleshoot if it exists (usually in the game folder or sometimes on desktop). You can open the file in Notepad then copy paste here the contents.
