Just wondering if this is a thing yet or not? I've tried pressing everything i could think of but it only seems to change the height that the half slab sits. I ask because i was hoping to use half slabs vertically as walls in a modern house build, seems to make more sense as a width than the full block as a wall.

Will this include the ability to rotate other blocks? I mentioned this in another post somehere in this forum how only one specific stair type block can be rotated on its side.

Yes, exactly
You will get the ability to treat every block (including stairs, ramps etc) as regular construction elements, in other words, you can rotate or resize them. -
