First off let me say,as a new player I am absolutely loving this game! I see all the wonderful potential this has to offer and look forward to it! Now on to the question, I have tried a few searches and the latest comment comes from january of 2015. I was curious if there is a way to move things already constructed like workbenches,beds,etc etc

I think you hold down F to remove a placed item which then goes back into your inventory

Yes, with F, but be aware that you have enough place in your inventory. This happends more often to me.
And there are some things like lamps you cannot replace. -
Also, if for some reason you are not an admin of your server, the rights to move things my be restricted. I had this issue when I took up my dedicated server and had to put myself as an admin in the config file.

Ya, holding 'F' on items takes it back with a timer (progress bar) until it pops into your inventory. I had to destroy my smelter because I placed it poorly because it can't be picked up back up.
