With the mention of the new water and re-hype on boats I wanted to tag a few things from my trip to Vancouver along with it in hopes it finds its way into Rising World to boost the experience and value of it even further.

The new water from the Trello Page:

    --------------

I've always enjoyed the forested areas of the Java version, especially the pine forests. They've always had this detailed charm to them.

    - Lighthouse island, something we're all going to build. I can't wait to even colonize many islands in this size, along with varying other sorts. Java version allowed for this already with its makeshift rough lakes, something which can be expanded on in the Unity version with actual ocean size.

    - Ferries are an important part of water travel, connecting one island with another. I hope we obtain a ship transport allowing us to transfer goods from one land mass to the next. Vessels don't have to be the size of the one seen in the image, it can even be a basic barge or even made up. It took Minecraft many years to finally comprehend the necessity and importance of boats with chests on it to transfer goods from one place to another, even before the whole Shulker storage stuff. You're looting something wanting to also bring it back to your base to which it would even overfill the enderchest.

    - The boats & Ferries don't have to be as large as the Ferry types above, they can be "medium" sized, as such seen in the below image. Better to make note of it now while the "iron is hot", type of thing. It can be basic storage ferry, or we can even go up to carrying train carts, vehicles, among other necessities. Horses, camels, among other stuff.

    - Took this while whale watching. I even nearly fell asleep up here from how peaceful it was (lack of sleep). The point of the below image is for navigation. Navigation is important. I hope some of the less manually driven ships have some for of navigational aid applied to them.

    - A beached barge from a nasty winter windstorm land-locking a barge on land. These are fairly useful to haul things around a corner of land, across "short" distances, among other areas. Attach a tug boat to then drag materials to and from various areas. (Should be storage only for materials & liquids).

    52219727519_92122d91b1_c.jpg20220715_202448 by SubTrance, on Flickr

    - Boat docks. Such a simple sight like this is something I'm eager to see started, even expanded on with boats even being seen from a far. Sail boats, river boats, etc. Whatever boats we get is whatever boats we'll have lining these docks. Having fishing boats, row boats, and all sorts lined up shall make for an interesting experience.

    - Float planes - I'm well aware Red51 is hesitant of adding planes into the game for generation loading. Fair. Even so, I wish to see some form of aviation in Rising World focused on the Twin Otter type speed & cargo variant. These planes are on the slow side, are designed for cargo, and are very adaptible to any terrain and conditions. Twin Otter alone could land in a corn field. Basically a decently sized air strip out in the middle of nowhere. My favourite way to get around is by helicopter and certain plane types, such as the Twin Otter. I hope Red51 considers flight beyond the glider.

    52228644831_bee01929ab_c.jpg20220719_191008 by SubTrance, on Flickr

    - Just an additional image for the above desire for adaptable planes (Seaplanes, airstrip planes; Twin Otter type planes).

    52226778725_99af7a8255_c.jpg20220718_181118 by SubTrance, on Flickr

    - Just as long as it flies, has storage, and is friendly to use I'll be happy. A proper handling on take off, landing, and in flight.

    52226292396_d04b7091e2_c.jpg20220718_181628 by SubTrance, on Flickr

    - The next step to gliding is paragliding. Attach a propeller on your back and have fun flying around. No storage, more for the thrill and scouting. Very tricky in stormy conditions.

    52234991056_8708911fa0_c.jpg20220722_201823 by SubTrance, on Flickr

    - Helicopters are just as important as planes who land/take-off from airstrips. They get people and small cargo in places. Great for scouting and small cargo transport. Even transporting people in 'PVE' oriented servers. 'SMP' (Survival Multiplayer).

    52232901018_b92cf8c6f2_c.jpg20220721_191649 by SubTrance, on Flickr

    - Sharing this because old boats have this lost style which you never see in modern era. Rarely so.

    --------------------

    Back to more scenery images:

    - Vancouver airport with an A380 British Airways & Mount Baker in the background. I hope and wish to see these imposing mountains. Wish to see these ice & snow capped mountains in Rising World. Properly.

    52235478725_a21d409114_c.jpg20220722_192837 by SubTrance, on Flickr

    - These ice circles from ice spinning is a fun sight to see. Hope to see these in Rising World in some form and variations.

    52233164149_ff7fa232c2_c.jpgScreenshot_20220721-202936_Gallery by SubTrance, on Flickr

    - Mount Judge Howey - Three pronged mountain. Nearly had these in Java, hope to see smoother mountains in Rising World. And if Red51 feels brave (or time willing), even allow helicopters to roam through these scenery.

    52232892956_8c41527f0a_c.jpg20220721_192916 by SubTrance, on Flickr

    - Rough foggy waters. Java version nearly had this with the grassy lake, it could now end up being so much more with an improved biome. (I nearly lost my drone in these conditions with my drone scared to land in the fog).

    52239641653_15782e99e7_c.jpg20220724_112837 by SubTrance, on Flickr

    - Again, we were fairly close to this in the Java version:

    52238654187_ba3cdbb90f_c.jpg20220724_113219 by SubTrance, on Flickr

    - Mount Baker (as seen in the Vancouver Airport image):

    52251439156_4111548538_c.jpg20220728_190139 by SubTrance, on Flickr

    - Merrit City area (up to Kamloop's exterior). A certain part of British Columbia had light green grass to the point it almost appeared "magical". I tried capturing it on camera, it doesn't do it justice. If Red51 ever feels the need to variations simply add mini cactus & light green (almost neon) grass.

    52260075212_0fee13bb28_c.jpg20220730_150023 by SubTrance, on Flickr

    - Focus is on light green grass and cactus. A Mexican friend brought up it appears like Wyoming in USA.

    52261062893_f764ac8821_c.jpg20220730_150450 by SubTrance, on Flickr

    - Roadways. Something we've done in Java, something we'll do more of in Unity version. Rising World has this power.

    52238696942_faa4d9936d_c.jpgdji_export_1658702687254 by SubTrance, on Flickr

    - Foot bridge. What Java version lacks is what Unity version could potentially add when allowing for rivers, streams, and other forms of scenic water to occur on land. Allow for Danube River type boat traffic would be neat also. People have also built these sort of bridges in their own worlds.

    52261531160_0648fbc380_c.jpg20220730_121543 by SubTrance, on Flickr

    - Birds - Shall be nice to eventually see them instead of hearing them. Even being able to see them interact with your items would be interesting, as such as sitting on boats, lamp posts, etc. If you have food in your hand they should attempt to steal it.

    52236164952_f4f7b1ec97_c.jpg20220723_070633 by SubTrance, on Flickr

    - Bears - Even though certain types can actually be aggressive, I do hope for certain types to be more passive until further provoked. The longer you stay in an area the worse your situation becomes. Bears should study you, warn you (stand up), THEN attack you. Meat should play a role by attracting bears. Having exposed meat should be a factor in a bear's curiousity towards you, or a given area. If you throw meat or fish at a bear it "should" leave you alone.

    52239616373_cc41094caa_c.jpg20220723_155026 by SubTrance, on Flickr

    - For when river biomes improve I'm hoping to see various river types, including these stony types.

I have tons more images which made me think of Rising World and vice-versa to my trip in B.C, Canada. There is a LOT of things I'm seeking, desiring, and even anticipating for Rising World. Can't wait.

Awesome. I was in the Q3 lineup finally getting the invitation to finally purchase the device after a year of waiting. Purchased, now waiting for the order to process and ship. Soon, soon I'll be able to test out Rising World and other games while playing it during times I'm either traveling or during the nights when my computer is usually loud.

    ProtonDB - Rising World entry.
    https://www.protondb.com/app/324080

Can't wait to see and hear what Red51 has to note regarding Steam Deck compatibility with Rising World. I'll be posting a lot of game feedbacks trying to get it to work. I would PC if I could, this isn't pre-2020 anymore. My parents passed away, I'm staying with a coworker for almost 3 years now. I'm still looking for my own place so even then it would still be useful.

We'll see how useful this Steam Deck shall be, especially for Rising World. I recently poked Dinkum's developer to seriously consider the Steam Deck.

    Mojang/Microsoft - Minecraft's Language Censorship:

I've been indirectly made aware there is a new censorship campaign being done with Minecraft preventing people speaking "foul language". Can't name tools, can't speak it. Minecraft is being injected with a new hard limit of preventing 'foul language' being used in the game, even allegedly banning accounts straight up when others snitch on other folks. I need evidence, I'm however noting this for awareness. You risk your accounts being banned, even if snitched on your own private world (allegedly).

yet it took this to get people's attention, not the faux-politics I've brought up time and again. People start caring once language gets censored, nothing else before that. Sure, whatever. I'm always wrong, you guys are always right........

With this, maybe I should cut all ties with Minecraft & Mojang; I'm forced with Microsoft on many fronts. I however have to note the "I told you so" when it comes to faux-politics and the things I"ve noted here. People assume I'm talking trash, it's what you're seeing injected in games. Google and you'll have your answer. Denial isn't "ignorance is bliss" mentality here.

All the more reason to stick with Rising World.

Censorship...... Give them an inch and they'll take a mile. They don't give a crap about you. Never have, never will.

I forgot this was around so I'll grab this trying to insert it into Rising World next chance I get. Thank for your Titanic. I still have the other one being overly impressive. Been lagging behind so I'll check it out now

    Any updates, or this it?

For the "fun of it" It be amusing to see more exagerated character animations. Not now, but whenever. Even via modding.

    For example.

There are indeed carrots, although they're really hard to spot if they spawn naturally ^^ However, they're also accessible through the creative mode vegetation placement tool (F6), just open your inventory while that tool is active to bring up a plant selection screen.

To get the edible carrot item, just type "item carrot" into console.

Guess I'll take a quick peak in the early afternoon and night. I even went through the creative mode not really seeing them, unless I lapsed in awareness. I'll check what I saved later.

They're just available as item, so unfortunately they don't spawn naturally yet :saint: Some of these fruits (e.g. the pears, bell pepper, ginger root etc) will only be optainable from NPCs in the future, and some may spawn in chests (like the overripe pear). Things like the cookie will be part of the future cooking update^^

But you can spawn them with the "item" command ;) These are the commands for the new items:

That explains why I couldn't find pears. Yeah. As for the NPC part, can't wait. I can't wait to start questioning NPCs hoping to gain various rewards out of them.

Glad we'll also see cooking! YAY!~ I recall VortacVids wanted the cooking update to which he made a bakery place. Him and Weem both bailed on Rising World so I hope they reconsider later. If not, it's their loss. They have themselves to blame. I digress...... Can't wait for the BBQ cooking to come back. I want to cook fish again on a grill, I genuinely miss that.

Fishing is something I can't wait to come back also.

Thanks for the list, I'll see about making a note of it :)

You mean the debug console (i.e. the black console window)? You can disable it by opening the "config.properties" file in the game directory (in the "_New Version" subfolder) and change "Game_DebugConsole" to False , then save the file and run the game again ;)

Many thanks! I'll try to make note of it this time. I'll put it somewhere I can see it then edit it when I can focus. It's late.

Can't wait for my next rounds of testing.

Looking good, though I have more to playtest. Wish it released yesterday and not today (on a Wednesday). I'm loving the new shrubs, trees, etc. Trees being what they used to be. I'm baffled by pears, and other stuff mentioned. Haven't cycled through the non-Java type additions. Farming seems to be fine.

[New] New cultivable plants: tomato, chili, potato, watermelon, lettuce, corn, carrot, hemp
[New] New trees: acacia (x2), appletree, araucaria, birch, cactus (x4), cypress, hickory, london-plane (x2), palm, red maple, spruces (x6), weeping beech, willow oak

Tomato I saw, as with chili, watermelons, lettuce, corn, (not carrot???), and hemp. I'm drawing a blank on carrots. Something said 'pears', I haven't seen those. I've also misread something as peaches looking for a peach tree...... Couldn't find that either. Neither pears, nor peaches.

[New] New food: bell pepper, carrot, chili, cookie, corncob, gingerroot, lettuce, pear, potato, tomato, watermelon

Pears...... I'm confused. I saw no pears, maybe I'm being blind. I cycled through all the items. Maybe I have to spawn them in.... Had to check everything in such a short time frame, though loving the new additions I was able to check out in both survival and creative mode. I cycled through all the new vegetation loving the new flowers. Can't wait for a gardener NPC to provide us with blue and red flowers, among other types.

Also, I know you told me how to fix the menu that pops up when you boot the game. How do I fix that again? Sorry.

There's a discussion on the Steam forums about music. I want to share a few Genshin Impact related musical elements for that discussion.

    ----------

    - Player Instruments and Automated Instruments (Rehash):

    https://steamcommunity.com/app…ons/0/6202034231176972838

Being able to play any instrument, other than Piano. Being able to apply a music map on guitars, trumpets, flutes, etc. A desired requests was for it to be automated like in Cyberpunk game, while my requests would cover both requests under variety of instruments, manual and autoplay using music sheets. The standard request as previously requested years ago. To play music automatically one could compose a musical sheet (editing it with notes) to then have the instrument (or NPC with instrument) play the desired music.

The following images are from Genshin Impact's latest event dealing with an Oni character hosting a drumming festival, and another dealing with the Zyther instrument.

Character is 'Kuki Shinobu' from a recent gacha wishing pull. I got lucky.

I wanted to properly share how much I admired the old forests. The normal generic forests and the pine forests, those were my two favourite ones. You could tell where Red51 spent most of his time with where the bandits spawned. The overly dense forest requiring you to chop down trees, wade your way through brush, and even through pine trees avoiding boars and bears. I enjoyed the desert, and even some other biomes, the forest attracts the more natural side of the human body.

As we all are, can't wait to finally settle down in Rising World via both PC and Steam Deck version. The major stuff on PC, the minor stuff on Steam Deck. As noted many times previously, I'll even be favouring/desiring NPC assistance with hopefully custom NPCs aiding me on our journey through the world.

The only image I can share of the old is the following 'Scathach's Ruins' (F/GO) of her old residency in lore.

Based in IRL location, sourcing now lost. This rough Ontario + Great Britain type scenery is something I would love to see more with actual rivers, oceans, and proper swampy layouts. Little inlets, etc. All my other images have been lost on other hard drives or in other hosted places.

Purge (or merge) this thread if you have to, I just wanted to note a simple quick thing how Red51 simply knows how to make forests. Just wanted to praise him, even if it feels like I'm "over-praising". Need to encourage good behaviour

    https://trello.com/c/HpTB8HGu/…-62acd2f0ed1cac2754bc13f2

(In this image I already see an area I would build a hut.)

Red51 simply knows how to populate these forest biomes. It's the same with the winter forested biome, and Java version, as we're now seeing with Unity version. Props to Red51 here. I'm hoping we get to see swamp biomes, desert biomes, among others treated much better than their Java counter-parts, time willing.

Just a few more examples to share hoping we get to see these sorts of scenery in Rising World. Not to toot my own horn here, I'm just sharing examples from my pool of images.

When rivers become a thing I do hope we get to find the occasional islands like these which can be used to connect other bigger islands and continents.

As for the below image, I hope we get to see more of these sorts of swampy type areas. We've seen them in Java, I hope they're more "pronounced". More common, easier to find, etc. If you look at the inlet leading to a big bulge of swampy vegetation that's what I'm trying to point out. Next to the bike path and the two parkway lanes.

I came here for some simple thing to praise Red51 on his forest vegetation. Simple as that. While I'm here I'm dropping off 2 extra cents of thought. Two birds with one stone. :nerd:

Screw it, I'm just going to put this here...........

    ---------------

    Minecraft's Phobia of Cargo Boats:

Yesterday I was simply researching potential games I wanted to try out for the fun of it, to which I came across a tweet containing a video clip of two players in a boat with cargo on it. Basically a tweet containing a video of two players showing off poaching eggs from a nest by placing it on a boat, even getting back on a boat. Cargo boat! Both Mojang and Microsoft were phobic about this, yet overly eager to spread fake political nonsense on the interweb for people to hate on Notch, myself, and other people just because they've said so. It's perfectly fine to abuse people, yet it's offensive to keep lifestyles and games traditional and healthy. It's allegedly better to believe the Earth is flat over implementing worthwhile features into games. People are weird.

Cargo boats! Eggs on boats! Holy crap! Not even Minecraft can do this!

Oh, wait..... Better late than ever.

April 22nd, 2022..... IF IT WAS THAT EASY WHY WASN'T IT IMPLEMENTED SOONER. Modding community has to do everything for Mojand, and even ironically for MIcrosoft, an evil & rich pandering company in the modern ages. A boat and a chest added in later than sooner. I'm glad a void has finally been filled it, it's however a case of "better late than ever", and "a little to late". My Minecraft server is down, I passed on an invite to join a friend's Minecraft server, and nobody has a long attention span to join mine for long term. Nobody has the attention span whether it be on my server or their server; Nobody lasts for a week.

James from the Dinkum game most likely assumes I'm sort of crazy moron, and I'm sure people in this community want to jab at me claiming I am, unaware they've been morally corrupted. There are things called "standards" in this world you need to uphold. Not abiding to that eventually leads to social degradation, something we're seeing currently. You need to keep standards high. I hope he sees the light.

Thankfully, Red51 has various plans for boats in Rising World which I can't wait to see implemented. Satchels, storage containers, and even placing work benches on boats. This is why I'm here in the Rising World community while people assume I'm some sort of crazy person unaware of keeping standards high as the Japanese indie developer scene have been doing.:monocle:

    - Mexican Mario's "cultural Appropriation:

It appears I get the last laugh with how actual Mexicans desire Mexican Mario back loving any form of exposure in the media. Then you have the fake people claiming its fake-racist, etc, to which we nearly break the Rising World discord groups, forums, and bad blood nudging Vortac out of the community. Sorry buddy, Sorry you had to see that but I'm not happy with it either. If only people were more honest we wouldn't be divided and you wouldn't have to also be MIA from this community either. If only honesty was a more prideful thing to be taken care of I wouldn't have to make these posts calling things out.

My Mexican friend over from the Anime & Genshin Impact side approves of Mexican Mario finding it awesome. He laughs at people who were offended by such a trivial thing (same as I) wishing people would grow their skin back. Not have their nerves exposed to the world, just be a normal human. This even runs parallel to how people are offended to find Canadians in video games, let alone refusing to have them in video games for censorship and stale void-causing reasoning. They're afraid of anything creative and fun. People hate anime, people hate expressive individuals. The more something stands out the more you have to hammer it down into boringness. No fun allowed!

Fun is fun. When it comes to Rising World I want to encourage Red51 to just make the game HE wants to make while listening to feedback improving the game. If someone says to censor, remove, or not have a feature then find another way to put it in a game. Mod.io, or whatever. We live in a society where everything is allegedly offensive. Play what you want, do what you want. It's why Asian games are overtaking the western market while western games accuse one another of false crimes. People keep noting "false allegations" when I point something else, that in itself is gaslighting when the proof is out there on the internet. I source things, the cancel culture doesn't.

Normal (indie) games are fun when they can reach their max potential. This goes with AAA games unhindered by political or corruption. If Red51 deletes this then that's fair. Keep the peace, I'm however fed up with fake behaviours. I'll keep calling it out. I want to find honest people who care about what they enjoy.

Just going to post something simple because that is why we're here in one manner or another. Also, because we don't want political nonsense in our games. We may desire philosophical POVs such as in Metal Gear Solid & Nier: Automata (any Japanese & Chinese games) to provoke our minds and emotions. No political nonsense, no broken glitchy nonsense, forced development, etc. Just pure simple fun classic Nintendo styled entertainment.

Simple, and to the point. Why myself and others prefer indie games over AAA games doing things a AAA games won't ever do. Power to the people!

In my quest to import real world stuff into Rising World & VRChat I'm trying to find various tools, applications, and practices to do so. Shall be making note of tolls in hopes something can be found out.

    - Polycam - 3D Scanner:

    https://poly.cam/explore

    ----------------

I'm sharing this for those who care about modding Rising World, the one of many applications you could potentially use to import your real world items into Rising World. It could be Java's 'static model' plugin, or it can even be done through Rising World's future Unity plugin.

I'm sure there are other scanner applications out there which we could potentially use for Rising World. Java version first, VRChat after.

Android version is limited to photogramatry mode while ipad & iPhones can make use of Lidar features allowing you to scan your rooms, structures, etc into Rising World to which you can then furnish. Whatever you want to do, the choice is yours. Build and scan your real world items into Rising World, the choice is yours. I've sought this out for Rising World, it seems equally as usable for Rising World.

This thread isn't just for 'Poly cam', I'll be sharing others I'll find along the way in my desire to figure out ways to get IRL stuff into VRChat & Rising World, among other games.

    -------

Edit: Freemode sucks, have to pay to which you have to make sure to REALLY research things as you go. Have to pay to get the actual benefits of it.

Late night ramblings, trying to make this quick. Who knows if it may seem normal or not, I have to make note of this while the iron is hot showing why Rising World is one of the best games out there with the greatest potential......

    --------

Rising World - Modding (NPCs & Main character):

This basically ties into 'Statues & Monuments', this however expands things further thanks to both Red51's and Twitter's reaction to me. From my tweet about how someone told me to get back into Busou Shinki I felt "alive" again, also with how someone DM'd me just to stay true to figure photography. Rising World wise Red51 noted in a posting on Steam forums we shall be able to customize our main character and NPCs, something I'm now overly excited for. I can't wait for when that day now comes for when we can customize NPCs to Busou Shinki characters, anime characters, etc. Scathach from Fate anime universe. Hololive characters betrayed by politics and bullying being able to be free in Rising World.

    Scathach (Fate/Extella Link):

    https://steamcommunity.com/app…ns/0/5281042383588623396/

Scathach, Skadi, Renge, KanColle, Azur Lane, Hololive, among other numerous characters. This however all depends on Red51 and how open he plans to make his API.

    -----

Let it be known that once we obtain the ability to once again import static models, change NPCs to other models, and other forms of customization you'll see a boom of interest from the outside. This is why I'm posting this because of the reception I got from a DM telling me to continue taking figure photography of Busou Shinki figures. This, on top of a Busou Shinki "mod" would increase traffic to this game from the Japanese side. To those constantly worried about Rising World's popularity shouldn't worry if certain steps are seriously considered. Once we get proper modding you'll see a nice increase in traffic for this game.

Japanese folks importing Arnval into what appears to be VRChat. If it can be done there, it can be done in Rising World.

Kris follows me for Genshin Impact, now for Busou Shinki also. The potential in Rising World is greater than any other game I've seen. I apologize for my obnoxiousness, just Rising World is the best platform right now for anything currently out there. VRChat & Tower Unite barely fill in these voids. It's why I'm here.

Actually it has to be key_v (lower-case) in the new version ;) The bindings in the config.properties file are case-sensitive atm... maybe we will change that with the next update ^^

Alright, I see what went wrong now.... it was 'Key_v'. I thought I lowercased it as 'key_v', as you've noted. No wonder I was baffled that day. Such simple errors, thank you work fatigue and general exhaustion.

It helps, I however wish we could run also (stamina willing) to places. Now that this is possible horses should auto-walk (at various speeds), and vehicles should do this naturally on cruise control. Trains more so than any other vehicle. But yeah, thanks. It works, and I'm happy. QoL part shall be fun to tweak.

Oh, it looks like you're accidentally using the wrong config file - the one from the Java version :saint: Please make sure to open the config.properties file from the "_New version" subfolder :D I know it's a bit confusing currently while both

Makes sense. I'm just not thinking straight with the usual answer of poor weather and overwork at workplace. I'm honestly trying to make sense of things, even the simple stuff. I've been making so many brainfarts lately.

I'm in the right notepad now, let's see...

Done. Not shown in this image, just how I found it. Found the Autorun which now makes me happy. Inserted 'KEY_V', nothing happened but I'll leave it at that. Your next update takes priority.

In the Java version, the vehicle-keys were mainly used for the RIB btw... The vehicle-related keys are also present in the new version, but they're still unused there (because we neither have vehicles nor boats yet).

Yup. Aware we had the RIB requiring these controls. Curious to see how your new vehicles shall handle and behave, very important on the feel.

Can you elaborate on that? :wat: Do you refer to the RIB in the Java version? ^^ Or do you mean the default bindings for vehicles are a bit problematic in general?

They're simply used to Second Life vehicle controls. Various people have their own "home" games (main games) to which they prefer. It's "problematic" for them, not for us. You get used to it.

What DOES bother me is the different button controls between Xbox and Nintendo Switch controls. I'm always delayed by a few seconds trying to process which is the "confirm", etc. That's just a side-note comment not really relevant here until you keybind default key maps to the game. You don't have to worry about that, but for when you do later (default control set-ups) that is when you shall go crazy with it.

After world gen? Awesome. I'm also hoping it'll be a lot of fun, one of the best ways to get around.

hot air balloons? Nice. Grappling hooks could work, though curious what you'd think of helicopters themselves. We'll see where you start off first. Always need the first piece of the puzzle first.

Dungeons with gliding and other sorts? I'd welcome it.

As for Yahgiggle, I'd be fine with taming dragons from egg form to then have them fly around, etc. Obviously have to be rare, though something I'd welcome.

Red51 noted a few simple times about gliding and how we would potentially have a hang-glider. It had me wondering, especially with how various Asian (Chinese & Japanese) games now favour gliding to get around in their game making me wonder about Rising World's state of things. I did note this on Steam forums in a bit of an obnoxious state, I'm however still curious now using this forum to post images to hopefully get further thoughts displayed.

Feel free to move this to suggestions if necessary. I simply wanted to discuss gliding now that we're spoiled by it in various games. The feeling of desiring flight, or simply gliding around.

    -----------

It's been noted 'Breath of the Wild' on Switch "did it first", to which I've experienced it first on Craftopia. My most experienced and loved implementation of gliding is in Genshin Impact using preplaced thermals to venture around with some additional items boosting speed for a few seconds. The scenery is overly stunning when gliding around.

(Noelle over the recently added 'Chasm' in Genshin Impact.)

I'm aware Minecraft has their Elytra, something I've never properly experienced in vanilla. Others have, even using it far more than I ever could. I hate it, it's too fast, too clunky requiring fireworks to get places.

    - Craftopia - Gliders:

Friend introduced me to gliders in Craftopia while they were heavily into Genshin Impact before we switched spots. They noted how they forgot they weren't playing Breath of the Wilds, or Genshin to which they would obtain fall damage in Rising World, Minecraft, etc happily gliding in both Craftopia and Genshin. I haven't played this game since, just that Craftopia spoiled me, then Genshin after that.

    Zenith MMO:

Not the best image, though it's fairly close to what I'm showing.

Image shows my friend zip-tying his way around while I watch, curse, and mumble my way around. To fly around you have to T-pose in VR mode making your way around on limited stamina. The more you play the further you'll be able to fly. Best thing about this was how you could angle your hands (controller) upwards or downward to move upwards or downwards in varying pitch. Seeing how VR is far off I simply wanted to note the satisfaction in gliding here. Gliding, that's all I wanted to note for Zenith, even if it's a wonky and clunky game.

    Rising World's Gliding:

If my memory serves me correct, I believe Red51 desired a hang glider in this image form below.

That's fine, I'm fine with this. I however am still genuinely curious, somewhat worried about how it shall handle in Rising World. How accessible, mobile, and fun is it? Does the Medieval Era gain their own variant, or will everything "fun" be in the modern era? I however have to note a few concerns about how we handle them in Rising World. For continual use could we snap the gliders onto our backs, or just a tinier version? Could they potential make use of thermals at random (over hot biomes), and even be able to climb up gliding towers to continue to hang glide? If we ever do get proper gliders, ones you could even attach to your back for easy mobility, I would make gliding towers, even ones you could even glide to from one to the next with ease. Whatever I have to do, I will do it for the smoothest gliding experience.

I don't expect them to go stupidly fast as in Minecraft, more of a respectable speed of Genshin and Craftopia at a more noteworthy pace. If done right I wouldn't even suggest having helicopters or simple prop planes, though those I still would love to suggest.

    Potential "beginner" and/or Medieval Variant.

With the biomes update upcoming in two parts (as of this posting) we have a few more weeks to go. Has me wondering if we could tap into the gliders then, after, or after-after, potentially in an NPC update. Maybe use it as a surprise update? Whatever Red51 wants to do.

We need to tap into the sky of Rising World, something that's even under-utilized even in Minecraft, even poorly handled by Mojang's Microsoft side of things. I'm an overly curious person, I simply want to know more and how people would view gliding in Rising World.

Actually the new version has an "AutoRun" feature, but it's not fully ready yet. It needs to be set up manually and unfortuantely the player does not sprint automatically (so he just moves with his regular movement speed). To use the "AutoRun" feature, just open the "config.properties" file in the game directory with a text editor and bind "Input_AutoRun" to the desired key (e.g. "key_v" if you want to bind it to V), then save the file and run the game. If you press V now, the player will start moving automatically.

But as mentioned, this feature definitely needs more fine tuning :D Once it's fully ready, it will be exposed to the ingame settings menu ;)

    Excellent.

So, I tried it now gaining nothing so I guess I do have to wait for the next update. I'm glad it's finally being implemented which is finally making me relieved. I'll wait for when it's ready in the main menu, just hope I can be alerted to when it's actually in there. I'm probably going to miss it with everything going on. I've seen 'walk' & 'walk (toggle)' being a bit off relating more to crouch, or whatever it was labeled as. Being half asleep with overcast weather isn't helping my cognitive state, I'm always frustrated about that.

While peaking through the config files I've noticed this

    input_vehicle_changeseat=KEY_X

    input_vehicle_engine=KEY_I

    input_vehicle_geardown=KEY_Q

    input_vehicle_gearup=KEY_E

It's interesting to see how many placeholders you have in there. It may be a little funky to control vehicles. I even shared it with a potential modder/modeler, they found it funky. May have to resort to using a controller later, an Xbox controller.

Hi @ArcticuKitsu , :) my main problem is I spend a lot of time going from point A to point B, and after a few hours of that hand cramps are common.

I'm certain that's the case. Anything that adds 'quality of life' additions goes a long way in improving the overall game and your own health. I had to loot a lot in Skyrim, or venture elsewhere to having auto-movement helps a lot. I also still play my 'Azur Lane' game on my mobile devices with vehicles and auto-run allowing me to multi-task during long journeys. Even trains would help this in a more guided manner. Having it in Euro Truck Sim 2 and American Truck with cruise control I can multitask. I always pick the safest straights to ease up.

Yeah, you would have happier hands while also being more relaxed.8)
