A new update (0.9.2) is available now!
Latest Hotfix: 0.9.2.1 (2026-05-13)

The keyword Migdyn was seeking is "more".... More dungeons and dungeon types, something that shall be awesome once we stumble across them. Red51 has 'more' dungeon types, yet saving any map related features for later with how destructive adding world generation stuff would be. Other features first, then maps.

I love everything on your list, Blue. It's an expansion, even a clarification, on things I made note of that I approve of them that I really do hope sleep factor is added in where you need to sleep. I'm used to it in ETS2 & ATS (trucking games) where you need to sleep every 15 hours that it would make sense to do so in Rising World to tie yourself into a bed. Skyrim had a loose factor to this, yet wasn't really nudging you to bed.

Local weather is something I've also been pushing for when looking at 'Astroneers' where sandstorms would come and go. You could even see them roaming about nearby as you looked at them in fear. You fear weather in that game. I wish for more of that certain areas are effected, not all at once. Seeing a storm front forming off in the distance to gradually enter your chunk, or pass by, would be a beauty to experience. Something I experienced in Astroneer.; Have storm fronts spawn in chunks to then pass through them to despawn again.

Block recycling is something I suggested on steam, yet nobody bit onto that. I wish for a way to recycle, or crush blocks into their basic components.... Even gravel works for stone, and wood bits for wood blocks.

Some light fire system would be interesting, yet easily abused by griefers that it needs to be able to be controlled in some fashion. It needs to be natural, yet still hard to 'produce' that griefers won't get their hands on it. Having fire is something that needs to be done though. A side thought being of having a ritualistic style 'strawman' (The Wicker Man) to burn from ancient & medieval european times. Even Japanese side with those school yard fire stacks they have going on. The word I'm looking for is a 'bonfire'. [Note: Also amazing how I'm having a hard time finding a certain image that it has to be an anime bonfire image]

Emoting is something I would love seeing our characters being able to do also. It's fun and interactive when you can either press a button or from a scroll wheel to emote to people, something done in 'Conan Exiles', and others. Wurm Unlimited had a clunkier way to emote, yet it was awesome.

Rain indeed needs to be wet that you need to see it in the environment. Same with how rain needs to be taken out of the underground and kept above ground.

For Crop Care I do hope it's kept basic, yet 'complex' enough where you can still forget about it, yet come back to water it when you're able. On servers not everybody has free time that you'll have crops expiring when you're not there. Granted, that's the fun, yet it's a buzzkill to people. I wouldn't mind hopping on briefly to water the crops, regionalizing it to one specific spot to then be preserved, smoked, and such to then be shipped out. Having NPCs take care of your crops would be an interesting route to explore as well. I would love watering the crops, something I wish we could do. Even add in fertilizer from animal droppings, and such. It's just the time factor though.......

I honestly can't wait for a major 'Plant & Trees' update adding in numerous plant life, plants, decorative garden related stuff, simple home plants, among others. I want various forms of hedges to hide, divide, and compliment my builds. Hanging plants, among others.

[Sorry for the 'out of order' & rambly bit, just that I took your posting apart bit by bit with what was interesting to me.]

I know I keep asking a lot out of Red51 & this game, yet it's just the type of game this is that I'm constantly asking so much out of it. I"m sorry, Red51, just that RW is an awesome game. Rising World is a game that's showing promise & potential to 1-up & out do Minecraft in many areas that it goes without saying that we also become 'needy' & 'demanding' for certain features because of how capable Rising World is.

    - The Suggestion:

Will it be possible, in any capacity, to have NPCs (vanilla, plugin, & modded) to be able to harness the EXP & leveling system found in traditional (J)RPG games, or is that too much to ask. Basically having NPCs spawned in with a leveling system (Levle 1 to 150, and beyond), or if it'll be level-less where everything is simplistic.

    - Expanded Thought:

I ask this as a suggestion because it would open up a way for NPCs to level up the Pokemon, KanColle, and any other game with leveling systems into the Rising World universe to have fun with. If we're allowed to use Pokemon in Rising World we would be able to level them up, and similar with my Japanese ship game called 'Kantai Collection'. I would love for there to be a way to craft NPCs into existence with custom recipes, spawn them into existence, to level them up to fight custom enemies, to then unlock certain abilities having leveled up.

So basically, I'm asking if we can implement a leveling & EXP system to the (custom) NPCs to unlock certain abilities & such to make use of in Rising World's environment. Basically something similar to RPG Maker, but in Rising World where you can set up the world however you want them to.

[Note: I'm not asking of this now; For when Rising World is genuinely ready to add in NPC via an NPC API thing where we can fiddle with the settings then.]

I'm honestly surprised that you went out and did your research on train width, something Red51 can actually make use of in Rising World...If he hasn't already. Impressive. I wouldn't have thought of checking the sizes having accepted whatever we would have gained over being accurate.

Well,.... I'm horrible at math that I need a calculator to help me out so I guess I'll just nod & agree that this works nicely.

There's more listings here, do what you want with them.

Yeah, the spoiling of food shall be after this Player Foundation, whenever Red51 desires to release it. I feel he should just release the update to then patch it with missing animations after in a quick secondary update..... The stuff implied in the news feed.

Yeah, it is indeed much "too soon" that it should last quite a while in Rising World in a natural state, yet even longer in a preserved & frozen state. We'll have to see.

    Well, guess we're waiting :whistling:

Just get the whole you're/your' & 'there/their' right then everything else can be dandy. Everything else can be misspelled, just not those 4 words.

When playing Rising World on & off I still have to wonder though what shall spoil, what won't, and how we'll preserve them. I do hope it's far more forgiving than both Starbound, and FAR more forgiving than Conan Exiles where the food shall spoil, yet not to the point where you'll be running around like a headless chicken to catch it before it spoils. Being able to stockpile food underground should be a thing during Medieval area + outdoors in winter biomes.

I want to have a fishing village that's making me wonder if I'll be able to preserve seafood for a long while, or if it'll rot instantly when both raw & preserved/smoked. Food stockpiles need to last quite a bit.

Well, then that simply implies Red51 is going to do what Mojang has done with the wood by tying them in with their wood types. He wants to put marble in marble quarries so we can gather them from that, and he gave sandstone their own spot in the desert.

oh i just see this thread right now... i mind that in: where is the update. But youre absolutly right. maybe as some kind of gushers. oil for machines and tools... a chainsaw or something that helps you in your quarry...

Update is still in the works that it may be time to poke Red51 again. It's fine to have quality, yet there should be a limit to how picky one should get as long as everything runs smoothly. I'm gradually siding with the trolls.

Gushers would work, yes. Oil would indeed be used for machines, tools, as well as lanterns, and etc. Maybe even plastics. A chainsaw for wood works + jackhammer for mining a quarry.

running out of oil? if oil wouldgenerate in every desert biome, it would be nearly impossible to run out of it.

Well, need to consider that (for now) they would only be in deserts that we'd have to stay within the 10,000x10,000 limit because anything past that is unstable map wise. You can travel post 10,000x10,000, yet the map gradually becomes more unstable the further out you go that I'm hoping it'll get fixed for any newer map generation related additions.

My buddy, 'Nas' was also wondering if it was just the desert that if it would expend into other biomes. If we would have oil in oceans for oil rig options, and etc.

    ----

Also, that's a nice hefty posting there Fox. A nice food for thought to process. I"m pleased to see we're near the same page on things that I can also happily make a corn farm to make eco-friendly vehicles for the long term once we get there.

I"m having to wonder deeply about oil because it'll be a "big thing" for Rising World..... What we do know is that Rising World shall allow us to progress from Medieval era to Modern era, thus why the eras mix currently. Oil is also supposed to be found in the desert biomes (mainly, for now), that I have to wonder just how much there'll be in a world.

Think about having oil in Rising World, and how you'll use it and etc.

    • How much oil shall be in a desert biome on average
    • What shall be our average consumption rate to reliably rely on converted oil into fuel.
    • When we run out, then what? Can we have vanilla NPCs that sell us oil to keep the supply going.... regardless of realism. Once oil is out, it's out...You'd need to either switch back to horses, go to electric, or rely on NPCs for a constant supply of oil to convert into fuel sources.

Yeah.....I wonder if there's a way to make it so oil would regenerate in the desert biome by lining the oil in some specific solid desert stone lining, or something. Even expanding it into other biomes, and such. It makes one wonder. You'd be using the fuel for generators, cars, trains, and even tools... Maybe on tools. Electric gas/diesel generators.

We'll eventually have to rely on going 'sugar cane' ethanol, or even going pure electric (Tesla) style.

    Hmm....

    -------
I'm just so restless for a railway that I just want to get it built. I have so much iron I want to use on a railway system.... I'm curious, yet it's been said that trains "may" be '5 blocks wide' that it has me wondering what train sizes we're getting.

I'm having to wonder how we're going to craft trains (hopefully outside), how we're going to manufacture train tracks, if there'll be curved train tracks, tracks that adapt to their positioning (Connecting with left & ride tracks), tracks that adapt to their elevations (up and down), and etc. So many questions about trains, yet Red51 has to keep these a secret for surprise & development purposes.

Lastly, I damn well hope we're gaining electric trains (yet not expecting it at first) for when we run out of oil. We can always go back to steam trains, or rely on NPC merchants (vanilla) to import oil for us to convert into fuel. Shall be fun having electric train lines lining the map :D

I saw a comment of someone desiring a "non-binary" character on RW's Facebook page, something I have to facepalm over because it took 2-3 years until someone mentioned that. I was expecting it when Red51 first brought up we're getting a male-female character feature a long while back.....If anything, I do hope clothing fits on both male & female characters to cover this, yet anything else would have to be covered by mods.... There's a reason why games don't have characters using Tumblr genders, and it's because it's a struggle adding them in, unless it's modding.

    ------

I finally fiddled with lighting in the game that I'm happy that gold & copper is used, if lightly. Just wishing for more copper & gold uses. Silver needs a use that I hope we're gaining silverware.

I forgot to note two more

    1) When you Click-dump items into crates in pages 2-4 (also for chests) it sometimes goes back to page one that you have to move them back to page 2-4. All those ores you get from digging, and such.

    2) Floor lamps should be able to be picked up because they're small enough. This should apply to any electrical appliance. I'm aware that ceiling lights are intended to be placed once to be broken because of future plans for electricity, and such. Furniture related lighting should be able to be picked up though.... The things like floor lamps, desk lamp, and normal lamp should be picked up.

    Thanks for bumping this up.

I agree more control needs to be given to trees, similar to how they behave in '7 Days to Die' and 'Medieval Engineers'. I prefer the way trees fall in Medieval Engineers because of how you can control the fall to one side that I hope Red51 inspires from that to redo the tree mechanic in this game for that. I could then always point my trees inward in tree farms.

Well, the opinions on that are divided. I'd welcome both the island fantasy version, as well as a 'Twilight Forest' Minecraft version of the whole thing where you'd have to find a dungeon to get to the alternate world, and such. Whatever Red51 finds more pleasing, and etc.

Also forgot to edit in garden shears for main posting for pruning trees of saplings so we won't far wiping out small tree farms.... Namely for the Savannah trees. Everything else works well.

I've updated my first posting, and shall continue to do so. I however wanted to add one specific thing 'fictional' that I'd love to see done in Rising World in a nice realistic tone. I didn't add this above because it's not "realistic", yet it's "special".

    - Dragons & Dragon Taming: Something for the sci-fi biome (something I hope is an island & island continent), yet passive. Red51 desired a fantasy biome, thus I keep revisiting it with the help of Minecraft also. For dragons it be nice for them to be mostly territorial, yet still passive.....Something you can can see, yet leave unharassed. This isn't Skyrim, yet they can still be added if done right. If there's an abandoned nest then you should be able to grab eggs to hatch them into baby dragons. You should be able to hatch dragons to raise them, and to then mount them, yet treat them as such a rare thing so people wouldn't really encounter them early on. It be one of those highly rare rewards that it should take you a few months of hard playing to actually get to with Medieval boats, and such.

(Even if you spent a whole week running nomad you shouldn't be able to find these dragons that they should be earned.)

Something more practical, and standard in Europe, being the simple additions of 'bells'. Would be sweet to hang bells up in a very standard manner in a church type manner, or a clock tower. The more complex side of things could work along a programable sheet music + mechanical pins to make notes out of bells.

Having bells in the game would be interesting. I would love to hear a more casual side to bells, yet on public servers people would simply spam it that it would lose its meaning. On a private & themed servers it would work wonders that I would love to hear city bells tolling.

    ----

    - Bonus: Being able to sync bell chiming with real world hours in the game for that added bonus.

What parts of robotics do you want? When I see the word robotics I desire a late-tech modern era 'android' where you can create little 'FTB Mining Turtles' roaming about to help you do your jobs, drones, and even androids themselves in human form able to withstand more pain and punishment than a human body.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robotics

Yeah,.... at a glance I think robots that I'd love a Rising World's version of an FTB Mining Turtle.
