Howdy, not sure if this is planned or feasable within the scope of Rising World Unity. But I think it would be neat to have physics based building. Like placing down a beam and it being effected by physics, then being able to be built on to it. This could be used for Modding uses, or vanilla game uses. Like making functional custom boats, carts, seige weapons, or even aircraft.
Of course this would need a seperate system for creating constraints between different physics builds, and wheels, engines, propellars, etc.
I think this would add an insane amount of depth to the game, and would really make it stand apart from other survival random world generation crafting games.
Mostly curious if this fits into the vision the devs have for the game, and if it hasn't already been considered, I'd like to suggest it!
Thanks!
[SUGGESTION] Pysics based structures

If I remember right this was a topic a while back and the overall census was not to have physics to structures, this is because some buildings can have 100's if not 1000's of different elements just in a single build, the idea works well for games like Valheim (modular building) but not for Rising world.
Just imagine that you have just built a massive house that has taken you weeks if not months to build for someone or something to make half of it collapse
-
I would distinguish statics for houses and physics for windmills or electricity.
Most houses would probable collapse and everyone would scream.
-
This topic is coming up every now and then. The challenge here is how to implement structural integrity without taking off from the building possibilities RW has to offer.
Some people are building not only houses, castles, etc. but also glasses, cups, shelves, tables, chairs and even pen, books, statues, etc. Not to mention floating castles, space ships, etc.All this is possible because there is no SI / physics involved. Adding it would limit the possibilities we have.
Even if you could decativate it and activate only when required the activation would effect all built structures, not only the one you would like to apply it on.I would vote against it as long as there isn´t a solution for that
-
I don't see why it couldn't just be optional for specifics buildings or areas. It doesn't need to be global.
Physics is my single most-wanted feature. I'd be happy with even simple load-bearing that updates only once per minute or something.
-
The discussion long ago. shows players don't want physics on buildings. I.e. statics hat could destroy a house.
Physics like engine to use a wind- or watermill, or radio, electricity. would be nice.

there are technical limitations. though i agree in some cases it would be usefel to have pshyics in a very limited area. but as this seems to be technically not viable at the moment it is an either all or nothing approach.
and as long as that is the case i doubt this community would welcome it (i wouldn´t). simply because the building system of rising world is that much advanced that people can literally build everything with it. but physics would put huge restrictions on this again. -

This is something that is planned under the "movable structures" which if I remember there will be a central element pivot point to which we can attach an object like the above, but I would say this is way off from being implanted.

I prefer things everybody can easily use without having to make a special effort.

Is simple building strength physics possible with the API? As in, if the materials aren't strong enough, they collapse from the weight. A metal beam would be stronger and lighter than a wood beam.
-
what is "pysics"
-
I do hope you are just joking, but just in case have a read of this https://www.britannica.com/science/physics-science
