Why can't I place this ramp block here?

You can remove the upper ramp and instead put there a block

Maybe you can try it with woodplanktriangles, woodbeams or woodplanks.

It should still work, you only have to replace the ramps with blocks where the roof meet the house wall. The part of the roof that is in front of the wall should still use flipped ramps. I have build many houses this way in the past and it always worked (I was not required to use woodplanks or woodbeams)

I know, woodbeams etc. would have been an alternative.

Still would be nice if the block grid was updated to allow two blocks to occupy space. Perhaps a boolean operation applied to how it is rendered. Block A is placed, B is then placed. What results is A and B-A.

Just a thought.

However, since the construction system will be reworked after the water update, there will be no longer such restrictions in the future^^
