Waiting for response from Steam

Having the same issue. Can't get in the game from any of my computers. Tried check game cache. Tried reinstall of game. Nothing. So don't waste your time with either of those possible reasons.. It is something with either Steam or RW, not you.

I thought there was a way to get the Steam version to run in offline mode but I guess not. Looks like its a feature still planned. I guess authentication should be either Steam or the Hive, not both.

It is a Steam issue, other games are apparently affected too.

Maybe it is a good time to get an update, @red51?

All my other Steam games work. Only Rising World gives the message 'Waiting for response from Steam'

The issue is gone now, at least Rising World starts fine for me now. I'm sorry for the inconvenience... Actually the next update finally introduces a real offline mode, so there shouldn't be anymore issues like this (you may still see the message, but if the game does not get a response within ~10 seconds, it just runs in offline mode)

As for playing offline, I've not tried it with Rising World since I play on a multiplayer server, but for the other games I play, you have to set steam up before hand while you are online for that game to be enabled to play offline. It's a steam authentication thing, not a game thing. Playing a single player game in RW should be the same thing... login while connected, then set the game to play in offline mode. I have all my Strongholds set up that way.
