My idea is about base raids by hostile npc.
Im not a big fan of that but if done right it can add to the game.
The biggest issue is planks and beams. People work hard to create something nice and don't want it to get destroyed by bandits.
Idea 1... Hostiles aim for doors or windows, not walls. Easy to fix.
Idea 2... Build what you like with planks and beams, indestructible by Hostiles. Use a blueprint to copy the stuff and add an option to blueprints that its supposed zo be destructible by npc.
Then place blueprint overlaying the original build and by that replace it. When npc now attack they can damage the walls.
After the attack a ghost image of the structure, as with blueprints, is still there and can be filled with the material.
It's an idea to add more survival without damaging the building aspect
