Help with building

    Hello all, I am about to attempt my first large scale complex build. It is going to be a Modern style house. 7 bedrooms, 8.5 baths, 3 floors, and 2 car garage. My only real issue is converting scale. What would a real world scale be for a single block in its default 1x1x1 state? Is it 1m x1m x1m? Or 0.6m x 0.6m x 0.6m? Thank you in advance. I will post pics of my progress in the near future.

    A 1x1x1 block is indeed ~0.5m (or ~1.64 feet). For more accurate measuring, there is also a measuring tape available, which allows you to change the unit by holding c (but in survival mode, it can only be crafted at the modern workbench) ;)

    Just to help you a bit... I usually start with the outlines of the buildings and it's inner walls. Incl. The staircases, entrances, etc.


    Once you are happy with that, just add up on this for every level of the building.


    I recommend challenging yourself a bit more well, by adding a few rounded edges or details . That will help you to get the from the typical blocky shape and the learn faster

    Dalshok Given the size of your house, I’d advise you to sketch out a floor plan on a scrap of paper or however you prefer. I wouldn't recommend incorporating curves right at the start, as you’ll likely want to familiarize yourself with the building mechanics in Rising World first. I have a few curved walls in my house, I’ve been building for over ten years and I can tell you that it’s not as easy as it sounds. It’s not the actual construction, but the planning.

    Later on, you can build whatever you like, including furniture and decorations.

    well, if you use the right prompt, yes. though without a clear prompt it will just create an abstract or complicated plan. AI is not a search engine that works with rudimentary phrases. but yes it can help

    I want to object you a little bit, Deirdre. I recommended doing a few rounded parts because i think its vital to get into the building system as early as possible. The goal should be to build the best and most flawless building right away but to do mistakes and learn from them. If you don´t go outside your comfort zone and experiment, you will not learn at all, or much slower than necessary.

    And i am not talking about complicated rounded structures. Maybe use different block shapes, to create rounded edges for hallways. Or use the Pivot points to create a few rounded ornaments on walls or chandeliers or furniture.

    Or...if someone else likes it more than I do, They can give it a shot. I can always start with an easier project, and work my way up to this. But I've already started the ground floor. I'm feeling my way through it, as opposed to sticking strictly to the measurements 100% Although, I will be omitting the spiral staircase as spirals are as of yet out of my range.
