Should we be able to loot camps ??

  • Hello everyone, hope you are all enjoying the latest update, Red51 and the team have done a fantastic job with the game so far.


    Now I was just wondering how everyone feels about how easy it is to just kill a few bandits and loot all the items at the camps and in fact all the POI's?, for me being able to take everything has really taken away the need to really craft a lot of stuff.

    So would it be better that with certain items that we can not loot them!.


    For me, I would much prefer that nothing can be taken apart from the very basic stuff and maybe go a little further and say some stuff / buildings are only available to the Dev's, (for me at lest) this would keep exploring the world a lot more exciting and enjoyable, to come across something that is just new and different to see

  • I completely disagree. I spent far too much much time trying to find bandit camps to get the 1 square lantern it spawns that you can’t craft. It took me 6 hours to get 3 lanterns. In what way is that “too easy”?

    My mum is now making a Survival run after she quit playing the game after the switch from Java to Unity. I asked her about you Question she thinks it´s not overpowered to get all the Stuff. She was pretty happy to be able to Loot everything.

    Oh my gosh, i wanted never start a post with " my Mum"...:D

    If I was not able to loot all this stuff then I don't see any point in exploring. Looting is one of the key features why survival games are popular at all.

    True. And it may just be too complex for Rising World, but if there was say some penalty for looting "too much" (everything from everyone) like perhaps extra ferocious attacks, or more frequent attacks that might be pretty cool. Also I don't think the bandits can actually "bandit" your stuff. Seems like something that needs fixing! But then I usually play creative so ignore me! Red has been great about letting us customize so much, so having a user setting for banditry and looting might be something he'd do.

  • If there were a setting to limit loot yield by xx%, that would be good for everyone. Not just for servers, but also for single-players.

    I'm always happy to get loot, the more the better, but not every player feels that way.

  • To me its very simple, if you don't like it then don't do it. The game can be customised to your preferred style or you can just ignore all the poi's but for me at least its a great way to get players to explore to discover the assorted poi's. A new breath of life into the game and judging by some of the items added to the list, it appears that there may be even better loot and poi's coming. For the most part they are all items that are not that difficult to craft and available pretty much from the start anyway with a little grinding and nothing beyond those items, not even clothes. I loved getting items that can't be crafted. It requires a new strategy in the beginning if you want to acquire these items by looting as opposed to crafting and will require a search far and wide while you can have them crafted a lot quicker but a new player can have great fun exploring and discovering and acquiring them.
