Update 0.9: Points of Interest [EN]

A new update is now available, introducing "Points of interest" and many more changes!
Latest hotfix: 0.9 (2025-11-05)
  • We've released another minor hotfix now. It fixes an issue when trying to place blueprints (which did not contain any construction elements), but it also fixes some texturing issue.
If you still run into any issues, please let us know :)

This update is again optional for multiplayer servers, but still recommended to install.

    Hotfix (2025-11-05):

    • [Change] Reduced armor value of knights armor
    • [Bugfix] Fixed error when trying to place a blueprint which does not contain any construction elements
    • [Bugfix] Fixed disappearing turtle shell when cutting a turtle
    • [Bugfix] Fixed texture scale 0 setting not being correct
    • [Bugfix] Fixed stretched texture on slope blocks and window frames
  • Hehe, never really had a lucid dream unfortunately :D

Look into it. You have to keep a constant sleep schedule. Also, make a dream journal too and read past written dreams before you go to bed. After a while of these habits, try sleeping on your back and relax your whole body and clear your mind. Eventually your brain will slip into a awake-dream state and you will be able to work on new development ideas in your sleep!

  • These POIs are one of those things which make the world more interesting to discover it, very cool! :)

Also trophies(and other rare things) are interesting to collect. (of all kind)

Collecting rainwater is also good, as example if you are on an island without fresh water.

Really cool would be HUGE deserts with small oasis with water or a well to get water in the desert.

Digging deep should be rewarded like within the java version where you can find rare ores as deeper as you dig., this should be also available within this version. Maybe as option if it is not intended for everyone...

  • We have a whole desert biome ;)

And digging deeper you'll find sulfur. Also hellstone.

There will be more over time. I'm sure

  • Hey Red,

I'm not sure if this is an old undiscovered bug, or if a change was recently made to the chicken laying eggs code, but I've had chickens laying eggs while the game has been on pause several times. Before supper today, I went into my "chicken coop" and there were no eggs on the ground. I turned to the wall and paused the game. When I returned an hour and a half later and unpaused the game, there were at least 12 eggs on the ground (see screenshot below). Maybe someone else can test this.

Also, the "Rainbow Egg" was a pleasant surprise. It would be interesting if all the chickens were to lay decorated eggs as an Easter event next year.

  • Red,

One more possible bug found, although it could be seen as a feature too: When I stand in the rain, my Thirst goes up by 5 every 40 seconds. I checked with F3 and after 40 seconds, my Thirst went up by 5. I waited another 40 seconds and it went up by another 5. I looked at the settings to see if there was something I could turn off, but I didn't find anything.

  • Thanks for your feedback! :)

It's a bit OT, but I was looking into this many years ago (before RW was a real thing) :D I'm afraid these days my sleep schedule is a little too chaotic to pull something like that off :drunk:

Yes, that would be a nice addition. I will put this on my to-do list :)

Hmm... yeah, unfortunately this is a "limitation by design". The game determines a fixed time when a chicken lays eggs... but thanks for bringing this to my attention! I will try to change that for the next update ;)

This is actually intended (unless I misunderstood your post) ^^ Rain slowly quenches the thirst of the player. Probably it would be a bit frustrating for a player if he dies of dehydration while standing in the rain.

  • Hey Red, it looks like placing a Cooking Grate on a 'pre-generated' (POI) campfire makes the Cooking Grate disappear into thin air.

If you try to place another grate after that, it won't let you do it at all.

This doesn't seem to affect crafted+placed campfires, only POI campfires.

  • Hey Red, it looks like placing a Cooking Grate on a 'pre-generated' (POI) campfire makes the Cooking Grate disappear into thin air.

Thanks for letting me know! It seems that the cooking grate takes the wrong position into account when being placed on a POI campfire :wat: So the cooking grill is there, but usually at a much lower position :drunk: I will fix that with the next update (unfortunately it won't fix cooking grates that were already placed on these campfires)

I am assuming that the new POIs won't spawn in already generated worlds? On a multiplayer server. So we would need to wipe the world to see these?

Usually there is no need for a wipe ^^ As mentioned by Bamse and Avanar , POIs spawn in all unmodified chunks, i.e in all chunks which haven't been modified by a player (e.g. by digging a hole, placing a block, cutting down a tree etc)

I find it pity that we have to destroy the chests and items (like clothessacs) to get the loot || We already new that behaviour with the artic chests (and i did love these chests)

If a find a chest i can't open it ... "permission denied" (or something). Only thing you can do is smash it with an pickaxe. It would be nice if a can open the chest, loot it and that's it. Or even put some things in it for other players.

I understand you have to demolish the tree with inside the clothessacs, but why can't i just open the clothessacs and must they be destroyed ? These clothessacs (3 or 4) or standing in the middle of a few nice coloured plants; it would be nice that we can use them to put necessary things in when travelling around. Or even new loot. To open the clothessac you have to use (again) a pickaxe. I destroyed 2 watermelons that way and guess what: i was just out of water ;(

Can this be fixed please. Just open and close chests, clothessacs and so on. It's fine not to loot or demolish every Poi. Taking a blueprint gives also the chest or items (it seems)

  • I did ask the moderators and they told me it's not something they can help with. One of them suggested to post it on the forum as a 'bug'

Currently, players in the wilderness need the permissions "useallchests" and "destroyobjects" set to "true" in order to open chests and pick up items from points of interest (POIs).

Players probably only have the "destroyownobjects" permission.

However, in the future there will be a distinction in permissions between player-placed objects and naturally spawned objects.

  • Random question, may not be a bug, but when hosting a dedicated server, using the scheduler stuff, if a player kills an animal, the @OnPlayerKilledNpc is triggered and %npc% literally says %npc%
